Ocean Waves and Glaciers.
This Mandala was inspired by the waves of the ocean, and also by its glaciers. The blue color suggests a calm sea, yet it has ripples traveling through its center, with glaciers at its outer corners. The green represents the multitude of life forms that can be found in the sea.
My focus in the Mandala was originally water and earth. As I created the piece more ideas came to me. I added the element Air to balance out the mandala. The heavy white stroke on top of all of the layers to me gives the piece an airy balance. I took inspiration also from a hippie, peaceful state of mind.
This is my take on the mandala project, I wanted to integrate all 4 elements and associate them with color. The sun on the right of the piece represents life and its relationship with the 4 elements. The rectangles running across the sun represents a sunset and sun rise through the 4 elements. The black background is nothing more than space. This was a fun project for reasons being it gave me the opportunity to play with geometry and color.
The theme is fire, water, wind, or earth in a mandala style. I used fire and water and above link is how I interpreted these two elements.
This is my Mandala project.
With this project, I chose the elements Air and Earth. I wanted something that isn’t polar opposite. I used more Earth than I did Air. When I started this I had an idea for earth to have more of an animal vibe to it. I wanted the light color for air to compliment the darker color for earth. When I finish with preparing the mandala, I noticed that it looked demonic, the exact opposite of what I wanted. So I went with it and started designing around it to make it look like the the demonic figure is caged in and is slowly being enlightened.
My Mandala project elements are water and ai. I picked with two elements because they are related to two zodiac signs that are meanful to me. The colors I chose for this mandala are dark blue, light blue, white and a greenish blueish kind og color.
I have to say that this project was really hard for me cause I didnt know first of all how to start it and the techniques that we needed to use weren’t as clear. I feel okay on how this project turned out, but I know I could’ve done better.
This is my Mandala that represents the element of water. The center is a drop in which everything else echos out. I choose to go with blue and white to give a light and easy to look at tone. Also adding the gradients to the circles gives the piece depth and makes it interesting to look at in my opinion. the most difficult part for the project for me was deciding what colors to use and how to use them.
